Many people suffer from hip pain and the rate of hip replacement surgery has increased. In most cases, it is likely that the hip pain is a result of a twisted or tilted pelvic girdle, unless you have already had a serious impact directly to the hip joints. A twisted or tilted pelvis can cause an imbalance of gravity or tension towards the lower extremities starting from the hip all the way down to the ankle and foot.
Most people do not realize that they have a twisted or tilted pelvic position and push themselves to run or exercise with this condition. Though it may begin with soreness or tightness around the area, it will gradually worsen over time, later accompanied by deeper or sharp pain. With correction of the pelvic bone positioning, the hip joints receive less tension and the symptoms are likely to be alleviated.
Knee pain is also likely caused by the knee joints becoming compromised when there are bio-mechanical changes in the spine and pelvic bone. When the hips turn in one direction, the knee joint compensates by twisting in the opposite direction. This then bears force upon the meniscus, which serves as a sort of shock absorption between the knee joints. When the meniscus is inflamed, it leads to swelling and/or edema at the side or back of the knee.
In the meantime, the patient may experience pain at the front, either side, or at the back of the knee. With the help of a specific chiropractic adjustment, the misaligned knee joint and meniscus can be corrected with great outcomes in most cases.
