The Friday 5 – Struggle Bussin’ and EASY Iced Chai Latte!
1.
Lately, I’ve been for a long ride on the struggle bus, dealing with painful headaches and extreme fatigue. You may have read in my profile that I myself am on a health and wellness journey, mostly due to severe digestive issues that I’ve suffered in the past. Well, the journey goes on, folks! I’ve been researching what is behind my current condition and learning so much interesting and eye-opening information! I’d love to take you with me as I learn and grow in wellness knowledge, so that you can also be empowered to take your health and body by the reigns!

Speaking of empowerment – we have a new blog post for you, parents who are uncertain about the coming school year! No matter what your circumstances, we are here for you to support your family’s health so you can thrive in all situations! Read here to learn our 7 tips for keeping your littles in tip-top shape as they pioneer the online school curriculum.

Last weekend, we visited our neighboring town, Woodinville, and left feeling incredibly refreshed and content. If you’ve never been to this area, it is famous in Greater Seattle for its wines and wineries. At its center, there is a quaint, lovely little row of restaurants and vineyard tasting rooms. All around, there are rolling hills and vivid greenery, just swaying peacefully in the golden dusk. I believe looking at beautiful natural scenery often is so vital for our health and wellness. There is something about interacting with nature, and studies actually show that the color green is calming and good for the eyes.
If you are looking for plants for your own home, especially with all these quarantine home renovation projects (you can read our interior tips here), try out the local home and garden hero – Molbak’s. Our friends gifted us some indoor plants from Molbak’s and they are thriving with little care from us!

Dr. David loves routine and his includes one plain americano coffee in the morning and a cup of matcha green tea in the afternoon. As this summer has been super hot, he’s strayed from green tea to Iced Chai Latte! He is still experimenting with his ideal recipe, but so far, here is his EASY Iced Chai Latte recipe:
You will need:
– Cup, tumbler, vessel of some kind
– 1 packet Chai teabag
– 2-3 tbsp boiling water
– 1/2 tbsp raw honey
– 1 cup grass-fed milk OR your preferred alternative milk
**Optional – handful of ice cubes, a reusable straw
Directions:
1.) Boil water and pour into a cup
2.) Steep the teabag for 2 minutes until the tea is a deep red hue, remove
3.) Stir in the raw honey and dissolve
4.) Pour in the milk and stir with a spoon or straw
5.) Add desired amount of ice cubes
6.) Enjoy!

We have a jam-packed weekend coming up! Today, we are going to social-distance-visit our friends to pass off some food gifts (I’ve been experimenting with baking) and then we’re going to play tennis for the first time in a year! (Okay, correction: Dr. David is going to play tennis and I will be abandoned to sit on the sidelines and watch like the last time he gave me “lessons.”) Finally, we hope for pleasant weather so we can tackle HIKING for the first time in our time together! Where should we go? Let us know your recommendations in the comments below. Wishing you a wonderful weekend!
