The Saturday 6 – Labor Day Weekend on the Oregon Coast!
1. Family Time!
For the start of the three day weekend, we headed down to my hometown, Vancouver, WA for some much-needed family time. Ever since the quarantine started and Alight opened, I haven’t been able to see my parents very much. We came home to some amazing Korean-style braised halibut and Korean radish soup! My parents were so elated to see us again and it’s really sweet how they always tell the same stories about my childhood to Dr. David, who has probably memorized these stories by now. Family time is the best!
2. Cannon Beach
On Sunday, we hit the beach after Sunday Service. Cannon Beach is a popular beach on the Oregon coast, of which my family is a regular patron. Dr. David had never been to the Oregon Coast before so my dad told us where to go – Ecola State Park (where there is a beautiful view of Cannon Beach just beyond) and Cannon Beach. I never noticed that Cannon Beach has fine, white sand in the past, maybe because it was rainy when I visited with family. We were able to lay a blanket out, soak in some quality Vitamin D from the sun, and even read a book! For dinner, we hit up a local restaurant called Public Coast and enjoyed fish chips and other casual fares! They were able to reopen after laying off 100+ employees so we were happy to support!
3. Keep Portland Weird!
On Labor Day, we kept it casual in the city of Portland. Started out with a traditional brunch with fresh orange juice and then I took Dr. David to Hawthorne Street where I used to shop and hangout as a teen/college student! It is full of little cafes and shops, many vintage stops, and even an interesting shop featuring traditional teas and various medicinal herbs! Hawthorne has changed a bit since I last went, but it still has the same Portland charm that my friends and I loved.
4. The Neck Adjustment that Stopped Nausea
After our busy vacation, I’ve been feeling under the weather due to all of the indulgence over the weekend, dehydration, and exhaustion. I was experiencing a headache and mild nausea on Tuesday, but after Dr. David adjusted my C1, my headache and nausea went away! I was able to finally relax and REST for the rest of the night. If you are interested to know how the C1 adjustment can help with nausea specifically, leave us a comment below so Dr. David can know to write a more in-depth post! We also have a page about neck pain here.
5. More Family Time
My brother has been staying with us this week to help us with small tasks around the office. He is quite the handyman (and IT technician) and much of the aesthetics around the office were made possible thanks to him! I’m so thankful to spend some time with him and my sister, who stopped by for dinner yesterday, because as I mentioned, I haven’t seen any of my family much at all this whole year. It felt amazing to laugh with my precious siblings again!
