The Friday 5 – New Patient Exam Special Deal, Dying Basil, and More!
1.
Our first Friday 5! As your local chiropractic office, we often get upclose and personal with our patients. In treatment, we need to learn about individual lifestyle factors, daily stressors, and certain circumstances that contribute to the patient’s conditions. So, we get to know our patients pretty well, but starting today, we’d like to share five things that are going on with us each week so you can get to know us! This announcement is the first of many to come.

With that said, we have even more news to share – we are excited to announce that our chiropractic x-ray system is finally ready! If we can be candid for a moment, getting this x-ray has been the most challenging component of opening a new chiropractic office. Of course, it’s not without good reason! X-ray machines are complex and come with a lot of responsibility because they bring such a substantial piece of science to the table in chiropractic treatment, especially Gonstead Chiropractic. X-rays and x-ray analysis is an integral part of Alight Chiropractic’s treatment as well as the patient experience. This is Dr. David’s specialty and we are thrilled to be able to offer x-rays for our new patients again! Look out, Kirkland and Redmond, the mighty Thor has picked up his hammer…
To celebrate the debut of our new x-ray system, we are offering our blog readers an opening special for new patients! Click HERE to claim a new patient exam AND complete chiropractic x-rays and x-ray analysis for only $25! This deal is for a limited time and exclusively for our blog readers.

We are new to the area (Kirkland and Redmond, basically the East Side of Greater Seattle) and are slowly but surely exploring our new neighborhood. Because both of us love a good eat, the first thing we have discovered are the local restaurants. Not many are open for dine-in, but there is one, called Shaburina, that we found that has delicious food and has set up thorough safety measures to make sure customers can dine-in with some peace of mind. Like their name suggests, they offer all-you-can-eat shabu shabu and it’s definitely a unique experience that we’ve never had before! We’ll definitely be visiting again, especially in the colder, wetter Seattle months. This is very not-sponsored, we were genuinely impressed by their food and service and are happy to know there is good food in the area!

Another new feature in our lives is actually part of our home! We bought our third basil plant in the last three years. It seems that every year, I get tired of buying tiny packages of fresh basil for one recipe and/or avoiding recipes with basil altogether. Then, every year, I bring home a small basil plant, which I then subsequently kill in the following weeks. The mourning period is dreadful every time, but this time – it has been almost one week and despite one scary episode, the basil appears to be thriving! After overwatering it the second night (it drooped so dramatically, it should get an Oscar), I found the sunniest spot in our home (our kitchen windowsill) and have settled on a watering schedule of half a cup every other day. Dr. David and I are both so ready to try all the basil recipes to our little hearts’ desires, including Strawberry Basil Lemonade!

Last weekend was unbelievably hot, right? In the Kirkland/Redmond area, it went up to 90+ degrees on Sunday! We went for a drive to check out our local parks, but they were PACKED. We ended up going for a drive with some cool milk tea, talking about this and that, our hopes and dreams. It was still fun to have a heart-to-heart and watch the gorgeous Washington scenery, but it could’ve been more fun had we been more prepared for the hot weather! Read yesterday’s blog post to learn our recommendations to enjoy the remaining Seattle summer days safely.
It’s hard to believe that Summer 2020 is soon coming to a close, but I’m actually pretty ready for Fall! I think a cup of hot and spicy apple cider can do us some good, don’t you? With Back to School season hot on our heels, we’ve prepared some great tips for helping your little(s) stay healthy during the strange, new school year to come! Check back to read all about it next Monday!
